SUMMARY
This article outlines configuration needed to allow a user or local server access to run OWA Guard Reports.
SYMPTOM
When executing a report from the OWA Guard Reports page, the following message is displayed
“The permission granted to user ‘domain\username$’ are insufficient for performing this operation. (rsAccessDenied)”
RESOLUTION
To correct this behavior, the user or local server that is displayed in the error message needs to be part of the domain / local administrator groups. Individual users or groups can be added to the allowed list.
Follow the steps below to grant access to users, groups or local server to run OWA Guard Reports folder
- Go to the SQL Server where the OWA Guard Database is installed
- Open Reporting Services Configuration Connection
- Select the Report Manager URL tab
- Click on the hyperlink
- When the browser displays the page, open the OWA Guard Reports folder
- Select Folder Settings from this page only
- Select the Security tab
- Click New Role Assignment
- Add the name of the user or local server that appears between the quotes
- Enable Browser role
- Click OK when completed. The changes are applied immediately
Return to the OWA Guard Reports page and verify reports are launching as expected
