PDF Auto opens after clicking save in Browser

OVERVIEW

When AttachView Save is used, the file may automatically open in browser.  In some cases, this new browser feature may not be desired.

SOLUTION for Google Chrome

Method 1 (works with older Chrome versions)

To change Google Chrome to download without automatically launching or opening the file, the following steps can be taken: 

1. Navigate to Chrome Settings
2. Click on the Advanced drop-down and then select downloads
3. Click Clear “Open certain file types automatically after downloading
   • Navigate to Chrome Settings
   • 
   • Once in settings, click on the advance drop down and click downloads
   • 
   • Click Clear on “Open certain file types automatically after downloading”
   • 

Method 2 (works with newer chrome versions)

1. Navigate to Chrome Settings
2. Click on Privacy and Security > Click on Additional content settings
3. Click on PDF Documents > Select Default behavior as Download PDFs

SOLUTION for Edge

1. Navigate to Edge Settings
2. Click on Permissions or Search PDF Documents
3. Under all Permissions Click on PDF Documents > Select Always download PDF files

jSOLUTION for Firefox

1. Navigate to Firefox Settings

2. Click on General > Scroll down to Applications > For Content Type PDF set action to Save File
