Configuring the Plus Pack default settings for first time Plus Pack users

SUMMARY

 

This article outlines how to configure the Plus Pack default settings for first time Plus Pack users.

 

It is important to configure the default settings prior to rolling out the Plus Pack in production, since the default settings can only be applied for users who have not used Messageware products in the past.

 

The Plus Pack default settings are stored as custom properties in a hidden message in the user's inbox.  The hidden message is created the first time users connect to OWA with the Plus Pack features enabled . Once the hidden message is created, the defaults cannot currently overwrite the user’s settings

 

RESOLUTION

 

The Messageware Plus Pack default settings can be configured by the Administrator for first time Plus Pack users by following the steps below

 

1.     On the server, navigate to the Plus Pack Administrative Console (Start\All Programs\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook web Access\Plus Pack Administrative Console)

2.     Select the "Defaults" tab

3.     Configure the Spell Check, New Mail notification and the Address book as required

4.     Click "Apply" and "OK"

5.     Restart the World Wide Publishing service for the change to take affect

6.     Login to OWA using a new Plus Pack user account and confirm that the  settings have been applied
