When saving a file in OWA the content of the file is replaced with the Exchange FBA login page

SYMPTOMS

 

In environments where Microsoft Exchange Forms Based Authentication (FBA) is enabled, saving a file using the Messageware AttachView Java control from Internet Explorer, replaces the content of the saved file with the Exchange FBA login page. 

 

 

RESOLUTION

 

To resolve this issue, install the Messageware AttachView Add-in for Saving Files Active-X control on the client workstation by applying the steps below:

 

1.     In the OWA session, right-click on the attachment and select Save

2.     When prompted to install the Messageware AttachView Add-in, click on Install

3.     Proceed on saving the file

4.     Open the saved file and verify the content is available

 

Note: Should the issue remain, clear the browser cache and save the file again. The user must have the rights to install components on the local client.
