After saving an attachment using Messageware AttachView the content of the attachment is replaced with an error message

SUMMARY

 

After saving an attachment using Messageware AttachView, the content of the attachment is replaced with an error message from one of the following products:

 

·          Messageware NavGuard

·          Messageware SessionGuard

·          Messageware TimeGuard

 

RESOLUTION

 

It may be necessary to apply the configuration changes below for one or more Messageware product. 

 

Extract the contents of the zip file to a temporary location from the link below.

NOTE : Extra care must be taken as the setting files for Messageware NavGuard and TimeGuard have the same name. Please be sure to place files in their respective folders.

 

Messageware NavGuard

 

1.     On the server, navigate to \Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\NavGuard for Outlook Web Access\Settings

2.     Rename the settings_0.xml to settings_0.old

3.     Copy in the updated settings_0.xml from the NavGuard folder created after extracting the zip file

4.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take effect

 

Messageware TimeGuard

 

1.     On the server, navigate to \Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\TimeGuard for Outlook Web Access\Settings

2.     Rename the settings_0.xml to settings_0.old

3.     Copy in the updated settings_0.xml from the TimeGuard folder created after extracting the zip file

4.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take effect


IMPORTANT: If multiple rules are defined and enabled in the TimeGuard Administrative Console, the changes made to the Default Setting Rule (settings_0.xml) will also need to be applied to the additional setting files (settings_#.xml).   The changes are below.

Messageware SessionGuard

 

1.     From the extracted zip file above, navigate to the SessionGuard folder

2.     Rename SG_Config_Change.txt to SG_Config_Change.reg

3.      Apply the SG_Config_Change.reg registry file on the server by double clicking the file on the server

4.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take effect
