TROUBLESHOOTING STEPS

This issue is usually resolved by verifying the Windows Authentication and Default Domain for the Exchweb\Bin virtual directory to ensure it matches that of the Exchange and Public virtual directories.

Please make a note of both the Windows Authentication and Default Domain for the Exchange and Public virtual directories by following the steps below.

1.     On the server, open the Exchange System Manager (ESM)

2.     Navigate to Administrative Groups\First Administrative Groups\Servers\<Server Name>\Protocols\HTTP\Exchange Virtual Server

3.     Right-click on the Exchange virtual directory and select Properties from the action menu

4.     Move to the Access tab and Press the Authentication button

Apply these settings to the Exchweb\bin virtual directory by following the steps below

1.     On the server, open the Internet Information Systems Manager (IIS)

2.     Navigate to <Server Name>\Web Sites\Default Web Site\Exchweb

3.     Expand Exchweb, right click the bin virtual directory and click Properties

4.     Navigate to the Directory Security tab and click the Edit button under Authentication and access control and make the appropriate changes

5.     Click OK, then Apply and OK

6.     Repeat steps 5-9 for the Public and Exchange virtual directories
