Default Browser Language Hotfix for Messageware Plus Pack 6.7 Server Side Spell Check

SYMPTOM

 

After installing Messageware Plus Pack version 6.7 on the Exchange server, the World Wide Web Publishing Service may stop responding and eventually need to be restarted. A correction has been made for Messageware Plus Pack version 6.7.

To verify the version of the Messageware Plus Pack, open the version.txt file located in \Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access.

 

CAUSE

 

Users initiating the Messageware Plus Pack server side spell check in Outlook Web Access without a default browser language configured, cause a conflicting request to be sent to the server causing the World Wide Web Service to stop responding.

 

RESOLUTION  

 

Messageware has created a hotfix to be applied with Plus Pack version 6.7 to correct the server side spell check issue. Proceed with the steps below to apply the hotfix.

 

1.     Verify that you are running Plus Pack version 6.7 by reviewing the version.txt file located in \Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access

2.     On the Exchange Server, download the updated set of files from the link below

3.     Extract the files into a temporary folder

4.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access\Service Worker

5.     Rename the existing MW_PlusPack.dll file to MW_PlusPack.old

6.     Copy in the updated MW_PlusPack.dll

7.     Navigate to \Program Files\Exchsrvr\exchweb\bin

8.     Rename the existing MW_PPExtV5.dll, MW_PPSpell.dll and MW_PPThes.dll by removing the .dll extension and replacing it with .old

9.     Copy in the updated files

10.  Launch the IIS Manager and expand to Application Pools

11.  Right click on ExchangeApplicationPool and select Recycle **

12.  Verify that the issue has been corrected

 

** - If FBA is configured on the Exchange Front-End Server, recycling the application pool will force all connected users to re-login.
