RESOLUTION

To enable handling of Unicode file names you will need to make changes to the AttachView settings file.

On each server where AttachView is installed:

1.      Confirm that the Region and Language setting on the Server is Japanese

a.      Open Control Panel\Region and Language

b.     Select the Administrative Tab

c.      Click Change system locale.

d.     Verify that Japanese (Japan) is selected

2.      Navigate to :\Program Files\Messageware\AttachView\Settings

3.      Open SWSettings.xml with an HTML editor such as Notepad++

4.      Make the following changes:

a.      Under General Settings locate the Compressed (Zip) engine

b.     For Option 295 "Enable handling Unicode filenames" change the value to 1

<OPTION ID="295" DESCR="Enable handling Unicode filenames" VALUE="1"/>

c.      Make the same change under Internal Settings, External Settings, Default Settings, and any additional rules that you have created in the AttachView management console.

NOTE: an easy way to do this is to search for Unicode

5.      Save the changes

6.      Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take effect.

Please note that any additional rules that are configured in AttachView Management Console will need to have this setting enabled as well.
