How to verify and upgrade to the latest version of Messageware 2016 and Messageware 2013 products

SUMMARY

This article includes steps on how to verify the version of the Messageware OWA Suite products installed on the Exchange server, including information on how to upgrade to the latest available versions when performing an Exchange 2016 or Exchange 2013 CU upgrade.


We strongly suggest you perform a reboot of Exchange servers following the completion of the CU upgrade first.  This step will finalize any pending Windows updates and place the server in a clean state


VERIFY VERSION

Find below the steps to verify the version of Messageware software installed:

  1. Log into the Messageware Admin Center (http://servername/MAC)

  2. Click on Deploy

  3. Check the version of the software in the right-hand information window

  4. Check the “Messageware – Microsoft CU Compatibility Matrix”.  The PDF is located on the Customer Portal with the Product Updates and should be used to determine the matching  Microsoft / Messageware version.

UPGRADE

To upgrade to the latest version of the Messageware software, proceed with the steps outlined below.


Download the Messageware product package

  1. Visit http://m3.messageware.com/custportal/default.aspx

  2. Enter the customer number and license key

  3. Click on the Product Updates link

  4. Expand the view for the desired install program

  5. Click on the Download link for the latest version of the product

  6. Save the Installation file to a location on the hard disk

Update the Deployment Plan in the Messageware Admin Center

  1. Navigate to the Messageware Admin Center (http://servername/MAC)

  2. For Messageware Suite: On the Home page, click Products and then select Import

    • Messageware Suite: Browse to the directory where the Product.zip file is saved and select it

    • Import the new build

  3. For Messageware Individual Products: On the Home page, click Products and then select Import

    • Messageware Individual Product Step 1: 
      • Browse to the directory where the <product name>.zip file is saved and select it
      • Import the new build. Repeat if importing more than one product
    • Messageware Individual Product Step 2: 
      • Browse to the directory where the  .zip file is saved and select it
      • Import the new build
  4. From the Home page, click Deploy and Edit Deployment Plan

  5. Select the new build numbers from the drop down on all the products to be upgraded

  6. Save the deployment plan

Run the Master Installer on each server where Messageware is installed

  1. Select Install, Change or Remove

  2. Continue through the wizard

  3. The Master Installer will uninstall the old build and install the new one

  4. Once completed, go to the Deploy page again and hit Refresh All Servers button to see the updated versions of the software.
