When using Internet Explorer 11 on Windows 7, users are unable to save attachments using Messageware AttachView

SUMMARY

 

When users access OWA using Internet Explorer 11 on a Windows 7 workstation and trying to save an attachment using Messageware AttachView, users are unable to save attachments.

 

Workaround

 

To fix this behavior, the user is required to add the OWA URL to Internet Explorer compatibility view settings.

Follow the steps below to ensure users can successfully save attachments using Messageware AttachView add-in for saving files.

Action Plan

 

1.     Configuring Internet Explorer 11 compatibility view settings

a.     Click on the Settings icon in the top right corner of IE11

b.    Select the Compatibility View Settings item in the drop-down menu

c.     On the "Add this website" option, enter the OWA URL to always render in compatibility view

2.     Login to OWA and try saving an attachment

3.     Click Install on the prompt to install Messageware AttachView add-in (Only prompted when accessing Messageware AttachView for the first time)

4.     Confirm that user can now successfully save attachments
