The Plus Pack Address Book is distored when segmentation is configured

SYMPTOM

 

When segmentation is configured on the Exchange Server 2010 where the calendar items, tasks, public folders and contacts folders in OWA are disabled users are seeing the following two symptoms.

 

Symptom 1: When the Plus Pack Address Book is accessed in the main OWA window; add to contacts button and create new appointment button appear although calendar and contacts are disabled.

 

Symptom 2: The Plus Pack Address Book is distorted when being accessed from the compose form and clicking the To button.  This occurs if the spell check is disabled by using segmentation.

 

 

RESOLUTION

 

To resolve this behavior apply the Plus Pack interoperation update.

 

1.     On the Windows 7 64-bit workstation, download and extract the following files http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/KB/704_PlusPack_v2_0c_SegmentationPostFix.zip

2.     Navigate to the following location \Program Files\Messageware\vDir\mwmo\

a.     Rename the existing PlusPack.dll to PlusPack.old

b.    Paste the updated PlusPack.dll

c.     Rename the existing PlusPackIsapi.dll to PlusPackIsapi.old

d.    Paste the updated PlusPackIsapi.dll

e.     Rename the existing mw_addressbook.srf to mw_addressbook.old

f.     Paste the updated mw_addressbook.srf

g.    Verify the NTFS permissions match with the existing file

3.     Navigate to the following location \Program Files\Messageware\Service Worker\

a.     Rename the existing PP_ServiceWorker.dll to PP_ServiceWorker.old

b.    Paste the updated PP_ServiceWorker.dll

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match with the existing file

4.     Navigate to the following location \Program Files\Messageware\Delta\

a.     Rename the existing ppjs.ini to ppjs.old

b.    Paste the updated ppjs.ini

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match with the existing file

5.     Navigate to the following location \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\V14\ClientAccess\Owa\MWScripts\PlusPack\2.0

a.     Rename the existing mw_premiumaddr.js to mw_premiumaddr.old

b.    Paste the updated mw_premiumaddr.js

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

6.     Open up the Plus Pack Management Console (Start\All Programs\Messageware Plus Pack\)

a.     Click on the Refresh tab

b.    Click the Refresh button

c.     Click on Ok, Apply and Ok

7.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take immediate effect
