How to frequently edit the Plus Pack corporate dictionary without restarting the IIS Admin Service

SUMMARY  

 

Messageware Plus Pack offers the ability to add a set of company specific terms and expressions to a corporate dictionary to ensure words used throughout the organization are not caught in the spell check.

 

In environments where the Plus Pack Corporate Dictionary is often edited, an update is available which will automatically refresh the content every 5 minutes bypassing the need to restart the IIS Admin Service after editing the Plus Pack Corporate Dictionary.

 

RESOLUTION

 

To apply and configure the Plus Pack Corporate Dictionary auto-refresh feature, proceed with the steps below.

 

A)    Apply Auto-Refresh Update

 

1.     Download and extract the updated files from the link below

2.     Navigate to Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access\SpellCheck\bin

3.     Rename the existing mw_sp.dll file to mw_sp.old

4.     Copy in the updated mw_sp.dll

5.     Navigate to WINDOWS\system32

6.     Copy in the MW_SCEVT.dll
 

7.     Select Start\Run and type Regedit

8.     In the Registry Editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

9.     Right-click Messageware Incorporated and select File > Export to export the current registry key to a REG file

10.  Close the Registry Editor
 

11.  Double-click on the SpellCheckEngine_Registry_For_EventLog.reg file

12.  Click on Yes when you receive the notification to add the information to the registry

13.  Verify that a message indicating the information has been successful added is received

14.  Restart the IIS Admin Service for the change to take effect

 

B)    Edit the refresh interval

The default corporate dictionary refresh interval is 5 minutes. To modify the default refresh time, proceed with the steps below.

 

1.     Click on Start > Run and type Regedit

2.     Expand to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access\Spell Check

3.     Right-click in the right frame and create a New DWORD Value
Value: CorporateDictionaryRefreshIntervalInSeconds
Value Data: number of seconds

4.     Click OK and Close the Registry Editor
