SYMPTOM

 

When clicking the OWA Today button a new instance of the user's OWA session is displayed within the OWA Today page  

 

CAUSE

 

This behaviour occurs when using a third-party SSL hardware accelerator or similar appliance to terminate SSL requests before they reach the Client Access Server/s where the Plus Pack is installed.

 

RESOLUTION

 

For interoperation with the Plus Pack, an SSLOffloading parameter is required on the Client Access Servers where the Plus Pack is installed. Please follow the steps below to apply this configuration.

 

            1.      Open Internet Information Services 7.0 (IIS) Manager perform the steps below

a.      From the Connections pane, select the Web site where you host your Outlook Web Access virtual directories

b.      In the Workspace area, under the IIS section, double-click the SSL Settings icon

c.      clear Require Secure Channel (SSL)

d.      In the Actions pane click Apply

2.      Open the Registry Editor.

a.      Click on start /run

b.      Type regedit to open registry editor

3.      Locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange OWA.

a.      On the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD Value.

b.      In the details pane, name the DWORD value SSLOffloaded.

c.      In the details pane, right-click SSLOffloaded, and then click Modify.

d.      In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, in Value data, type 1.

4.      Restart the IIS Admin Service (IISAdmin). To do this, open a Command Prompt window, and then type iisreset /noforce
