An EventID 104 error message is being written in the application event logs on the CAS

When accessing the ECP page the following application error is logged in the application event logs on the CAS:

Description:

CP Exchange Access GetOwaUserConfiguration failed with 0x80004003 to access WS Message:[Invalid pointer] Description:[Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] Source:[Messageware.CalendarPack.Interop] Help:[]

 

 

CAUSE

 

This error occurs when CalendarPack attempts to retrieve time zone from the OWA configuration on Anonymous requests (i.e. /ecp page)

 

RESOLUTION

 

       To correct this issue follow the steps below:

 

       Note: Restarting the World Wide Web Publishing Service is required

    

1.     On the CAS, download and extract the following file to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/KB/690_CalendarPack_v2.0a_PostFix.zip

2.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware\CalendarPack\Service Worker\

a.     Rename the existing CP_ServiceWorker.dll to CP_ServiceWorker.old

b.    Paste the updated CP_ServiceWorker.dll

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match with the existing file

3.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take immediate effect
