Unable to monitor the health state of Exchange Front-End server using SCOM 2007 SP1

The health of the OWA Front-End server cannot be monitored when using SCOM 2007 SP1.  The following error appears in the operations event log.

OWA logon verification

OWA Logon failed.

   at System.Net.HttpWebRequest.GetResponse()

   at Microsoft.Exchange.ManagementPack.ManagementPackOwa.OwaAvailability.GetPage(String url, NetworkCredential credential, CookieCollection cookies, HttpStatusCode& httpStatus, WebExceptionStatus& webexStatus)





To correct the behavior apply the steps below on the Front End server where AttachView is present.


1.     On the CAS, download and extract the following file to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/kb/627_AttachView_8_6_PostInteroperableFix.zip

2.     Double-Click on the vcredist_x86.exe to install the Visual Studio 2005 SP1 C++ ATL redistributable security update

3.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware Core Services\Filter\

a.     Rename the existing MW_Core.dll to MW_Core.old

b.    Paste the updated MW_Core.dll

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

4.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take immediate effect
