Users receive a “Server Error” message when accessing the OWA Today page

SYMPTOM


Users receive a “Server Error” message when accessing the OWA Today page. 

 

CAUSE


This behaviour occurs if users do not have access to the EWS folder on the Exchange server.

 

RESOLUTION

 

To correct this behaviour, ensure that all users accessing OWA have access to the EWS folder by following the steps below:

 

1.     On the CAS where Messageware is installed, navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\exchweb\ews

2.     Right-click the EWS folder and select Properties

3.     On the Security tab, click Add, and select the All Authenticated Users group

4.     Under Permissions for Authenticated Users, select Read

5.     Click Apply and OK
