SYMPTOM

 

Conversions of subsequent files from the same message render the same result as the first file that is viewed

 

RESOLUTION

 

Resolution 1: Upgrade to AttachView 1.1

 

Included below are the steps on how to upgrade Messageware AttachView.

 

1.     Removing older version of AttachView

a.     On the CAS, open up the Add/Remove programs applet (Start\Run\appwiz.cpl)

b.     Uninstall the older version of AttachView

2.     On the CAS, download and extract the latest version of AttachView

a.     Visit http://www.messageware.com, select SUPPORT > Product Updates

b.     Enter the Customer Number and License key

c.     Click on the Product Updates link

d.     Expand the view for the desired install program

e.     Click on the Download link for the latest version of the product

3.     On the CAS, proceed with installation of AttachView 1.1

 

 

Resolution 2: Apply a hot fix for AttachView 1.0

 

1.      Download the AttachView update in the link below and extract it to a temporary location

2.      Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware\AttachView\vDir\bin

a.      Rename the existing AttachView.dll to AttachView.old

b.      Rename the existing AttachViewIsapi.dll to AttachViewIsapi.old

c.      Paste the downloaded AttachView.dll  and AttachViewIsapi.dll into this folder

d.      Verify the NTFS permission matches to the existing file

3.      Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware\AttachView\Delta

a.      Rename the existing avjs.ini to avjs.old

b.      Paste the downloaded avjs.ini into this folder

c.      Verify the NTFS permission matches to the existing file

4.      Open up Services and stop the Messageware Static Content Update Service

5.      Open up the registry editor (Start\Run\Regedit)

a.      Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Messageware\Setup

b.      Create a new Dword value InstructionRefresh

c.      Right on the value and click modify

d.      Click on decimal and put 1 as the value

6.      Open up Services and restart the Messageware Static Content Update Service

7.      Open up the AttachView Management Console

a.      Navigate to the Cache tab

b.      Click on the Flush button

c.      Click Apply and OK

8.      Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take effect


 

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

 

This behavior has been corrected in AttachView 1.1.
