Messageware OWA Suite 2007 & 2009 compatibility with Exchange 2007 Service Pack 3

  SUMMARY    

 

This article contains steps that are required to retain Messageware functionality when upgrading to Service Pack 3 for Exchange 2007

 

NOTE: The Messageware OWA Suite is compatible with Exchange 2007 Service Pack 3.  The list of products and versions tested with this Service Pack are listed below:

 

Messageware AttachView 2007 1.9
Messageware CalendarShare 2007 1.9
Messageware NavGuard 2007 1.1d
Messageware OWA Print 2007 1.0a

Messageware Plus Pack 2007 2.4
Messageware TimeGuard 2007 1.1a

Messageware ActiveSend 2007 9.1

 

PROCEDURE

 

Follow the procedure below on the Client Access Server/s where Messageware products are installed before upgrading to Service Pack 3:

 

NOTE: For environments where the Plus Pack 2.4 is installed, a post-fix is available to be applied on top of version 2.4. For versions earlier than 2.4, it is necessary to apply the latest version of the Plus Pack

 

1.     Backup of Microsoft files before the Service Pack 3 upgrade

a.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa and make a backup of the web.config file

b.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\forms\basic and make a backup of the registry.xml file

c.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\forms\premium and make a backup of the registry.xml file

2.     Proceed with the upgrade of Service Pack 3 for Exchange 2007. In the process, the files in Step 1 will be overwritten

3.     Revert to the files that were backed up in step 1

a.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa and revert to the backup of the web.config file

b.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\forms\basic and revert to the backup of the registry.xml file

c.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\forms\premium and revert to the backup of the registry.xml file

4.     If the Plus Pack version 2.4 is installed, proceed on applying the Plus Pack post-fix below for interoperation with Service Pack 3 for Exchange 2007

a.     Download the Plus Pack post-fix in the link below and place them in a temporary location

b.     Apply the Plus Pack post-fix

                                          i.    Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\MWScripts\PlusPack\2.4

                                         ii.    Rename mw_ppnmnbasic.js to mw_ppnmnbasic.old

                                        iii.    Copy the updated mw_ppnmnbasic.js file to this location

                                        iv.    Rename mw_premium_nmn.js to mw_premium_nmn.old

                                         v.    Copy the updated mw_premium_nmn.js file to this location

                                        vi.    Rename mw_brmnd.js to mw_brmnd.old

                                       vii.    Copy the updated mw_brmnd.js file to this location

c.     Perform a Refresh of the Plus Pack

                                          i.    Open the Plus Pack Management Console (located Start\All Programs\Messageware Plus Pack)

                                         ii.    Navigate to the Refresh tab and click the Refresh button

d.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take affect

5.     If the Plus Pack version 2.5 or earlier is installed, proceed on upgrading to the latest version of the Plus Pack by following the steps in the Messageware KB article below:
