Users receive an Invalid Environment error when trying to install ActiveSend on a client workstation

SYMPTOM

 

When users are attempting to install ActiveSend a client workstation the following error message occurs.

 

|PreUI.DLL|Invalid Environment: Policy file does not exist. failed with error: The system cannot find the file specified.

 

CAUSE

 

This occurs because the contents of the ZIP package were not extracted and the policy file could not be detected.

 

RESOLUTION

      To correct this behavior, extract all contents from the ZIP package.

 

1.     On the Client Workstation, download and extract the zip file containing the ActiveSend installation file as well as the ActiveSend.pol file that is included in the zip file, to a temporary location.

2.     Initiate the install of ActiveSend from the temporary location where ActiveSend and the ActiveSend.pol file was extracted
