How to configure the interoperation of Messageware with SSL Offloading for Outlook Web Access in Exchange Server 2007

This article outlines the server configuration for the interoperation of Messageware with SSL Offloading for Outlook Web Access in Exchange Server 2007

 

RESOLUTION

 

For interoperation of Messageware with SSL Offloading for Outlook Web Access in Exchange Server 2007, apply the configuration changes below on all the CAS where Messageware is installed

 

Configuring SSL Offloading

 

1.     If using Internet Information Services 6.0 (IIS) Manager perform the steps below

a.     Right-click the Web site where you host your Outlook Web Access virtual directories, and then click Properties

b.     On the Directory Security tab, in Secure Communications, click Edit.

c.     In Secure Communications, clear Require Secure Channel (SSL).

d.     Click OK as needed to save your changes, and then close the properties page.

2.     If using Internet Information Services 7.0 (IIS) Manager perform the steps below

a.     From the Connections pane, select the Web site where you host your Outlook Web Access virtual directories

b.     In the Workspace area, under the IIS section, double-click the SSL Settings icon

c.     clear Require Secure Channel (SSL)

d.     In the Actions pane click Apply

3.     Open the Registry Editor.

a.     Click on start /run

b.     Type regedit to open registry editor

4.     Locate the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchange OWA.

5.     On the Edit menu, click New, and then click DWORD Value.

6.     In the details pane, name the DWORD value SSLOffloaded.

7.     In the details pane, right-click SSLOffloaded, and then click Modify.

8.     In the Edit DWORD Value dialog box, in Value data, type 1.

9.     Restart the IIS Admin Service (IISAdmin). To do this, open a Command Prompt window, and then type iisreset /noforce

 

 

 

Applying the Messageware interoperability update

 

1.     Download the Messageware interoperability update from the link below and extract it to a temporary location

http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/KB/524_Messageware_Interop_F5BigIP-SSLOffloading.zip 

2.     On the CAS navigate \Program Files\Messageware\Common Files\

a.     Rename CoreServices.dll to CoreServices.old

b.     Copy the updated CoreServices.dll file to this location

Note: Step 3 is required if Messageware AttachView is present on the Client Access Server/s

3.     Navigate to  \Program Files\Messageware\AttachView\vDir\bin

a.     Rename AttachView.dll to AttachView.old

b.     Copy the updated AttachView.dll file to this location

c.     Rename AttachViewIsapi.dll to AttachViewIsapi.old

d.     Copy the updated AttachViewIsapi.dll to this location

4.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Services for changes to take effect
