How to backup and restore ActiveSend settings when performing an upgrade

SUMMARY

This article provides steps on how to back up the settings from an existing ActiveSend installation and then restore the settings to a new installation of ActiveSend

 

CONFIGURATION


Follow the steps below to backup and re-apply the Active Send settings on a new installation of ActiveSend

 

1 .      On the Client workstation, open up the Registry (Start\Run\regedit)

a.      Navigate to HKEY_Current_User/Software/Messageware Incorporated/

b.     Right-Click on the Messageware Incorporated and click the Export

2.      Save the file in reg format

3.      Uninstall ActiveSend from the Add/Remove program

4.      Upgrade to the latest version of ActiveSend

a.      Visit http://www.messageware.com , Click on Customer Login

b.     Enter the Customer Number and License Key

c.      Click on the Product Updates link

d.     Expand the view for the desired install program

e.      Click on the Download link for the latest version of the product

f.      Save the installation file to a location on the hard disk

5.      After the upgrade, double-click on the registry file that was saved previously in Step 2 to import the registry key
