Users receive a 403 forbidden access message when clicking on Managing Delegates in the Options page

SYMPTOM

 

Symptom 1: A script error occurs when navigating to the calendar page in OWA

 

Symptom 2:  When navigating to the Options page under the calendar section.  Clicking on Manage Delegates users receive a 403: Forbidden Access

CAUSE

 

This behavior occurs when the X-CalendarShare virtual directory does not have Read, Scripts and Executable permissions.

RESOLUTION

To correct this behavior follow the steps below.


Using IIS 6.0

 

  1. On the Exchange Server, open up the IIS Manager (Start\Run\inetmgr)
  2. Navigate to Web Sites > Default Web Sites > owa > X-CalendarShare
  3. Right-Click on the X-CalendarShare virtual directory and select properties
    1. Under the Virtual Directory tab ensure that there is a checkmark placed beside Read permission
    2. Ensure that the Execute Permissions is set to Scripts and Executables
    3. Click Apply and Ok
  4. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service

 

Using IIS 7.0

 

  1. On the Exchange Server, open up the IIS Manager (Start\Run\inetmgr)
  2. Navigate to Sites > Default Web Sites > owa > X-CalendarShare
    1. In the Features pane, double-click on Handler Mappings
    2. Under Actions, click on Edit Feature Permissions
    3. Place a checkmark beside, Read, Script and Execute
    4. Click on Ok
  3. Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service
