Script error when navigating between folders in OWA

This article applies to the following products:
     Messageware OWA Suite 2003

When logging into OWA, users are unable to navigate between folders, and the following script error appears:

'g_IOPT15' is udefined

'g_winDocAllobjReminder' is null or not an object

Code: 0

URL: https://servername/exchweb/6.5.7651.60/controls/MW_vw_navbar.js

This behavior occurs in environments where Symantec Enterprise Vault is installed

To correct this issue, add the front-end server where Messageware is installed, to the WinHTTP bypass list using the proxycfg command.

Before running this command make a backup of the registry key where this information is kept by exporting this key to a REG file. This file can be restored should it be required at a future date.

The steps outlined below indicate how to export the registry key and add the front-end server to the Bypass List.

  1. Exporting the registry information
    1. Open the registry editor and navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings\Connections\
    2. Click on the File\Export (Windows 2003) or click on Registry\Export Registry File (Windows 2000)
    3. Enter a file name and take the default (*.reg) as file type
    4. Click on the Save button
  2. Add the server to the WinHTTP bypass list
    1. From the command line enter the following command and press enter
      proxycfg -p <ServerName> "IPAddress"
(Where <ServerName> is the server you are adding to the bypass list and IpAddress is the IP address of the server you’re adding to the Bypass List)
    2. Clear the local browser cache (Tools\Internet Options\Delete Files) and refresh the page
  3. Verify that users are able to view attachments in OWA

A different parameter may be needed to configure the Bypass List, or to configure direct access to the WinHTTP proxy. Refer to the parameter list detailed in the Microsoft documentation Proxy Configuration Tool for more information. You can refer to the link below for more information:
