Users receive an "Invalid Conversion (64 - 0x0)" when clicking on the binocular icon to convert an attachment

SYMPTOM

 

Users receive “Invalid Conversion (64 – 0x0)” when clicking on the binocular icon to convert an attachment.

This occurs in an environment that has RSA SSO configured on Exchange 2003 server


RESOLUTION

To correct this behavior the Exchange virtual directory in IIS has to be configured to use the RSA SecurID Application Pool and the AttachView Administrative Console has to be set to Basic Authentication

 

The steps below indicates on how to apply the above changes in IIS

 

1.     On the Exchange server, open up the IIS Manager (Start\Run\inetmgr)

a.   Navigate to Web Sites > Default Web Site > Exchange

b.  Right-Click on the Exchange Virtual directory

c.   Under the Application Pool drop down menu select RSA SecurID Pool

d.  Click Apply and OK


2.     On the Exchange server, open up the AttachView Administrative Console (Start\All Programs\Messageware Incorporated\AttachView for Outlook Web Access\)

a.   Navigate to Global Settings > Authentication Tab

b.  Choose Basic Authentication

c.   Navigate to Global Settings > Cache Tab

d.  Click the Flush button

e.   Click Yes, Apply and OK

f.   Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take immediate effect
