Appointments on a shared calendar from a different time zone appear to be offset

SYMPTOM

 

When viewing appointments on a shared calendar from a different time zone, the entries appear to be out of sync.  The shared calendar shows the appointment in the time zone of the Exchange server. 

 

RESOLUTION

 

After applying the steps below, appointments on a shared calendar will be displayed in the local time zone of the delegate user who is viewing the shared calendar. The steps below indicate on applying updated files for CalendarShare.

 

 

1.     On the CAS, download and extract the following files to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/kb/451_CalendarShare_Timezone_PostUpdate.zip

2.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware\CalendarShare\vDir\bin\

a.     Rename the existing MWCalendarShareWeb.dll to MWCalendarShareWeb.old

b.    Paste the updated MWCalendarShareWeb.dll

c.     Rename the existing MWCalendarShareIsapi.dll to MWCalendarShareIsapi.old

d.    Paste the updated MWCalendarShareIsapi.dll

e.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

3.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware\CalendarShare\Service Worker\

a.     Rename the existing CS_ServiceWorker.dll to CS_ServiceWorker.old

b.    Paste the updated CS_ServiceWorker.dll

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

4.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\Bin\

a.     Rename the existing Messageware.Common.dll to Messageware.Common.old

b.    Paste the updated Messageware.Common.dll

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

5.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\MWScripts\CalendarShare\1.8

a.     Rename the existing mw_cscalview.js to mw_cscalview.old

b.    Paste the updated mw_cscalview.js

c.     Rename the existing mw_csmngcds.js to mw_csmngcds.js

d.    Paste the updated mw_csmngcds.js

e.     Rename the existing mw_csutil.js to mw_csutil.old

f.     Paste the updated mw_csutil.js

g.    Verify the NTFS permissions match

6.     Open up the CalendarShare Management Console

a.     Click the Refresh tab

b.    Click the Refresh button

c.     Click Apply and OK

7.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for changes to take immediate effect

8.     Clear the client side browser cache
