Performance reports generated from Windows Small Business Server are blocked with HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized

SUMMARY

 

When receiving auto-generated server performance reports on Windows Small Business Server, the report content is blocked and the following error appears:

 

“HTTP Error 401.2 - Unauthorized. Access is denied due to server configuration"

 

RESOLUTION

 

Resolution 1:

 

1.     On the Small Business Server, open up the Plus Pack Administrative Console (Start\All Programs\Messageware Incorporated\Plus Pack for Outlook Web Access\)

2.     Click the Override tab

3.     Select the following option Pass-through IIS authentication settings

4.     Click Apply and OK

5.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service

 

Resolution 2:

 

1.     On the Small Business Server, download and install the Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable package from the following link below.

2.     http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=200B2FD9-AE1A-4A14-984D-389C36F85647&displaylang=en

3.     Download and extract the following Core to a temporary location, http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/kb/447_Updated_MW_CoreDLL.zip

4.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware Core Services\Filter\

a.     Rename the existing MW_CORE.dll to MW_CORE.old

b.    Paste the updated MW_CORE.dll

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

Note: The version of the updated DLL should be 7.0.0.37

5.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service
