How to modify the default time range for printed calendars in OWA Print

SUMMARY

 

Messageware OWA print allows users to print calendar items in various formats using Outlook Web Access. When printing the following combination:

 

Layout        : Day

Style           : Calendar View

 

OWA Print renders a Day view from 7am to 6pm by default. This article provides information on how to modify the default time range to increase, decrease or alter the block to be printed.

 

CONFIGURATION

 

On the Client Access Server where OWA Print is installed, apply the steps below. Please note that the configurable numeric value has to be divisible by 60 and is based on a 24 hour clock.

 

Note: The default values are set to the following:

WorkDayStart="420"            ** 420/60 = 7 **              This is computed as 7am

WorkDayEnd="1080"           ** 1080/60 = 18 **          This is computed as 6pm

 

1.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\forms\basic

2.     Open the MwCalendarPrintWebControl.ascx file in notepad

3.     Search for WorkDayStart and change the value to the desired setting

Example WorkDayStart=”540”   for 9:00am

4.     Search for WorkDayEnd and change the value to the desired setting

Example WorkDayEnd=”1200”  for 8:00pm

5.     Save changes to the file

6.     Navigate to \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\forms\premium

7.     Repeat steps 2 through 5

8.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for the changes to take effect
