Shared calendars do not display correctly when using Internet Explorer 8

SYMPTOM

 

When opening a shared calendar using Internet Explorer 8, the shared calendar does not display correctly.

 

CAUSE

 

This issue occurs due to a compatibility issue with CalendarShare and Internet Explorer 8.

 

RESOLUTION

 

The steps below include information on downloading and applying a hotfix on the Exchange servers where CalendarShare is installed.

 

1.      On the Front-End server, download and extract the following file mw_CalendarPlus.css to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/kb/432_CalendarShare_3_0_PostIE8Compatibilityfix.zip

2.      Navigate to \Program Files\Exchsrvr\exchweb\controls\

a.      Rename the existing mw_CalendarPlus.css to mw_CalendarPlus.old

b.     Paste the updated mw_CalendarPlus.css

c.      Verify the NTFS permissions match

3.      Clear the client side browser cache

4.      Users will be successfully able to open a shared calendar when using Internet Explorer 8

 

Note: After applying the fix, clear the client side browser cache
