Certain keyboard characters may fail to type in OWA light message composition

SYMPTOM

 

When using an OWA light browser certain characters may not appear in the body of the message when typing an email.

 

CAUSE

 

This issue occurs because certain keyboard characters may not be recognized as text that is being entered into the body of the message by the OWA Light browser.

 

 

RESOLUTION

 

To correct this behavior, apply the steps below:

 

1.     On the CAS, download and extract the following file to a temporary location

2.     Navigate to the following location \Program Files\Microsoft\Exchange Server\ClientAccess\Owa\MWscripts\PlusPack\2.0\

a.     Rename the existing mw_ns_compose.js to mw_ns_compose.js.old

b.    Paste in the updated java script file mw_ns_compose.js

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

3.     Clear the client side browser cache prior to testing the fix
