Users receive a script error when viewing an attachment via the NCP VPN solution

This article applies to the following products:
     Messageware AttachView 2003 v8.6

     Messageware AttachView 2007 v1.6

 

SYMPTOM

 

Users may receive a script error when viewing attachments in an environment where NCP Secure Enterprise VPN Solution is installed.

 

RESOLUTION

To correct this issue, an updated java script file has to be applied on the Exchange server where AttachView is installed. 


 

Exchange Server 2003

 

  1. On the Front-End server, download and extract the following file to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/kb/367_Exchange2003_mwavrich.zip
  2. Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\AttachView for Outlook Web Access\Vdir\Images
    1. Rename the existing mw_avRich.js to mw_avRich.old
    2. Paste the new mw_avRich.js
    3. Verify the NTFS permissions match
  3. On the client workstation, clear the client side browser cache

 

Exchange Server 2007

 

1.     On the CAS, download and extract the following file to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/downloads/support/Exchange2007_mwavrich.zip

2.     Navigate to \Program Files\Messageware\AttachView\Vdir\Images

a.     Rename the existing mw_avRich.js to mw_avRich.old

b.    Paste the new mw_avRich.js

c.     Verify the NTFS permissions match

3.     On the client workstation, clear the client side browser cache

 

 

Note: Verify the NTFS permissions of the updated file
