ActiveSend does not set Outlook Web Access as the default mail client

SUMMARY

 

When setting the Default Mail Client to Outlook Web Access using the ActiveSend configuration console, the default mail client is not changing.

 

CAUSE

 

This behavior occurs because the Default Mail Client in Internet Explorer is pointing to a different mail client.

 

RESOLUTION

To correct this behavior, follow the steps on configuring the Default Mail Client using Internet Explorer.

 

  1. On the client workstation, launch Internet Explorer
  2. Navigate to Tools > Internet Options > Programs
  3. Under the Email section select Outlook Web Access”
  4. Click on Apply and OK
  5. Launch the ActiveSend Configuration Console (Start\All Programs\Messageware Incorporated)
  6. Select the Default Mail Client to use Outlook Web Access
