Users receive 73 - 0x0 error message when viewing attachments in OWA

SYMPTOM

 

When users click on the binoculars to view an attachment in OWA they receive the following message

 

  “Attachview was unable to access the Active Directory resource. This may be because the Active Directory object does not exist or the object has become corrupted, or because you do not have sufficient access rights for the object. (73 - 0x0)”

 

CAUSE

 

This occurs when the UPN name of the user and the pre-windows 2000 account name do not match.

 

RESOLUTION

To correct this issue follow the steps below to match the UPN name and the pre-windows 2000 account name
 

  1. On the CAS, open up the Exchange Management Console
  2. Navigate to Recipient Configuration > Mailbox
  3. Locate the affected user
  4. Right-Click on the User and select properties
  5. Select the Account tab
  6. Verify that the UPN name matches the pre-Windows 2000 name


RESOLUTION

       This issue has been corrected in AttachView 2007 v1.8a
