Words which contains two or more uppercase characters are not flagged as incorrectly spelled

SYMPTOM

 

When spell checking a word which contains two or more uppercase characters; the spell check does not detect the word as incorrectly spelled.  

 

RESOLUTION

 

Note: Restarting the Spell Check Engine in Component Services is required

 

1.     On the CAS, Download and Extract the following files to a temporary location http://w3.messageware.com/download/support/kb/344_SpellCheck_PostFix.zip

2.     Open up the Component Services (Start\Administrative Tools\Component Services)

a.     Navigate to Component Services > Computers > My Computer > COM+ Applications

b.    Right-Click on the Plus Pack SpellCheck Engine

c.     Select Shutdown

3.     On the CAS, place the updated hotfix in the Plus Pack directory

a.     Navigate to the following location \Program Files\Messageawre\Plus Pack\SpellCheck\bin

b.    Rename the existing mw_sp.dll to mw_sp.old

c.     Paste in the new mw_sp.dll

d.    Note: Verify the NTFS permissions are the same

4.     Open up the Component Services (Start\Administrative Tools\Component Services)

a.     Navigate to Component Services > Computers > My Computer > COM+ Applications

b.    Right-Click on the Plus Pack SpellCheck Engine

c.     Select Start

5.     Clear the client side browser cache

6.     Login to OWA and the spell check will function normally

This Spell Check fix will be included in the future version of the Plus Pack.
