How to configure a Bypass list for SessionGuard

SUMMARY

 

This article includes information on how to configure the bypass list for SessionGuard using the registry, which is based on Security Group membership in Active Directory.

The steps below indicate on how to configure the Bypass list for SessionGuard

 

Note: Restarting the World Wide Web Publishing Service is required

 

  1. Obtaining the Security Group SID
    1. On the Exchange server, navigate to (\Program Files\Messageware Incorporated\AttachView for Outlook Web Access\Settings)
    2. Open the settings_0.xml file using Internet Explorer
    3. Scroll down to ID 48 "By Pass Group List"
      For e.g. < MEASUREID =" 48 " DESCR =" By Pass Group List " VALUE =" S-1-5-21-2611904544-393977864-894504375-5536; " />
    4. Copy the Value (SID) and temporarily paste it into Notepad

 

  1. Configure the exclusion list in the SessionGuard registry key
    1. Open the registry editor (Start\Run\regedit)
    2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Messageware Incorporated\SessionGuard for Outlook Web Access
    3. Clear the value data in the IgnoreGroups registry value by double clicking on the value and deleting the content
    4. Create the following

TYPE: Multi-string
NAME:IgnoreGroupSIDs
VALUE DATA: <AD security Group SID, one per line>

    1. Restart of World Wide Web Publishing Service is required for changes to take immediate effect
