When sending an email users receive a “More than one match was found” dialog box without any suggested matches

SYMPTOM


Symptom 1:
When selecting a recipient from the Plus Pack address book, followed by returning to the compose window and clicking the Send button, a dialog box appears stating More than one match was foundwithout any additional matches being displayed in the dialog box

 

Symptom 2: When selecting a recipient from the Plus Pack address book, followed by returning to the compose window and right-clicking the recipient, the following error message appears in the dialog box: “Outlook Web Access encountered an unexpected error and was unable to handle your request”

 

CAUSE

  This issue occurs when the mail attribute for the recipient is not configured in Active Directory

 

RESOLUTION

 

This issue is unrelated to Messageware products. There are two methods available to correct this behavior.

 

Method 1: Using Active Directory Users and Computers

 

1.     Open Active Directory Users and Computers

2.     Find the user, right-click the username and select Properties

3.     On the General tab, enter a valid email address 

4.     Click Apply and OK

 

Method 2: Using ADSIEDIT

 

1.     Open ADISIEDIT

2.     Find the user's mailbox, right-click on the mailbox, and select Properties

3.     Under the Attribute Editor tab, scroll down to the mail attribute

4.     Select the mail attribute, click the Edit button, and enter a valid email address

5.     Click Apply and OK
