Event ID 104 error messages are generated in the Application Logs on the Client Access Server

This article applies to the following products:
     Messageware Plus Pack 2007 v1.6

SUMMARY

The following event error is logged in the application event logs:

Event Type:      Error

Event Source:   Messageware Plus Pack

Event Category:            None

Event ID:          104

ERROR: Unspecified error

. CSWGeneralSettings::GetADProperty failed to get msExchUserCulture for sUser username sSession sessionID

CAUSE

When a user accesses OWA, the Plus Pack reads the msExchUserCulture attribute in order to identify the language for that particular user. In a standard Exchange environment, users are notified to select a default language settings upon logging into OWA for the first time, which sets the corresponding language value in the msExchUserCulture attribute.

In a non-standard Exchange environment where users are not notified to select a default language setting upon logging into OWA, the msExchUserCulture attribute is never set with a value. The Plus Pack is unable to identify the mailbox language using the msExchUserCulture attribute, and the an 104 error is logged in the event logs.
