When clicking on the Send button users receive the FBA login page

SYMPTOM

 

When users compose an email and click on the send button, they receive an FBA login page. The message may appear to be sent but it is not delivered to the recipient.

 

CAUSE

 

This behavior is caused due to the S\MIME control installed on the client machine for which the user agent string has been blocked in the NavGuard block list. 

 

RESOLUTION

 

To correct this behavior, the NavGuard Settings_0.xml file needs to be updated with the user agent string of the S\MIME control. To apply the changes please follow the instructions outlined below:

 

1.     On the Exchange server, navigate to Program Files/Messageware Incorporated/NavGuard for Outlook Web Access

2.     Open the Settings_0.xml file in notepad

3.     Search for MEASURE ID="114"

4.     Under the Exception list add the following User agent string: |*OWAMIMECTL*|

5.     Save the updated Settings_0.xml file

6.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for the changes to take effect
