Users are unable to play voice messages from the unified messaging server after AttachView is installed

SUMMARY

 

When AttachView is installed, users may experience the following symptoms when accessing messages generated by the Unified Messaging server

 

Symptom1: The following error occurs when clicking on a voice file
“Messageware AttachView You are not authorized to view this file”

Symptom2: When attempting to play a voice message, the following error message appears
“Media player has failed to play your voice mail”

 

 

RESOLUTION

 

To correct this issue, follow the steps below:

 

1.      Open the AttachView Management Console on the CAS (Start\All Programs\Messageware AttachView\AttachView Management Console)

2.      Select the desired Rule in the section labeled Rules, in order of use

3.      Select the Client Access tab

4.      Select the radio button option labeled Permit access to all file and attachment requests that are made through AttachView, third party software, or any manually entered URL

5.      Click Apply and OK

6.      Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for the changes to take effect
