How does AttachView handle the native file attachment block list in Exchange 2003

SUM MARY

 

In Exchange 2003 there are 2 levels of file attachments for Outlook Web Access:

 

Level1 attachments have file extensions that are prohibited from accessing by OWA. 

Level2 attachments have file extensions that can be accessed, but only if saved to the client's file system first.

 

The table below displays how AttachView handles file types defined in this list:

CONFIGURATION

 

To configure the File Access list in AttachView, apply the steps below on the Exchange Server

 

1.     Click on Start > All Programs > Messageware Incorporated > AttachView for Outlook Web Access > AttachView Administrative Console

2.     In the AttachView Administrative Console, select the Default rule

3.     Exchange Administrators can add or remove file extensions to be blocked using the File Access tab
