Unable to open shared calendars of new users

     Messageware CalendarShare 2007

 

SYMPTOM

When using CalendarShare to open and view a shared calendar of a new user, the delegate user receives the following message:

“To view this content, you must first use Outlook Web Access to select the language to display it in.
Select Language...

CAUSE

This issue occurs because the new user (owner of the calendar) has not logged into Outlook Web Access to create a profile for the first time.

RESOLUTION

This issue is not related to Messageware products. To correct this behavior either log into OWA as the new user or apply the cmdlet below using Exchange Management Shell:

Set-Mailbox -Identity "Account Name" -Languages "Language"

For example: Set-Mailbox -Identity "Tina Lassila" -Languages "en-CA"

Note: Applying the above cmdlet does not overwrite the user’s privileges to configure the mailbox language and timezone. Users will still be prompted to configure these settings on their first login to OWA.
