NavGuard warning message logs the user off from OWA without forwarding to the requested URL

This article applies to the following products:
     Messageware NavGuard 2003

     Messageware NavGuard 2000

SYMPTOM

When users attempt to navigate away from their OWA session and are presented with the NavGuard warning message, clicking on the Logoff button logs the user off from OWA. Users are not directed to the requested URL as stated in the NavGuard warning message:

Navigation away from Outlook Web Access detected.
Select Log Off to continue to the website.

CONFIGURATION

The behavior described above is the expected behavior in NavGuard version 1.5a.

Messageware NavGuard will show a security dialog that forces the user to either return to OWA or to logoff immediately. The user will have to re-enter the requested URL after being logged off from OWA, or launch a new browser session to visit the requested website.

The below set of files may be modified to change the text in the warning message which NavGuard displays when a user tries to navigate away from Outlook Web Access. They are located in the \Program Files\Exchsrvr\exchweb\Controls folder on the Exchange server.

·         mwNavGFrame.htm

·         mwNavGFrameRe.htm

·         mwNavGFrameNC.htm

·         mwNavGNCFrame.htm

We have documented this correction internally and will include it in the next release of Messageware NavGuard for Outlook Web Access.
