Users receive multiple logon prompts when viewing attached files using AttachView

SYMPTOM

 

When trying to view attached files using AttachView features, users receive multiple logon prompts. There are multiple causes for this issue; some of the common possible causes are outlined below.

 

 

RESOLUTION

 

Resolution 1

Verify the IIS Authentication Settings. Follow the knowledgebase article below to verify that there is no mismatch in the IIS authentication settings

Resolution 2
Configure the AttachView application pool to use the Local System account in IIS Manager.

 

1.     Open the IIS Manager and navigate to Local computer\Application Pools

2.     Right click on AttachView and select Properties

3.     On the Identity tab select the Predefined radio button, if not already selected, and choose the Local System account from the drop down menu

4.     Click Apply and OK

5.     Recycle the AttachView application pool by right-clicking on the AttachView pool and selecting Recycle
