Firefox on an Linux OS allows the user to right-click and save attachments from the AttachView conversion window

This article applies to the following products:

     Messageware AttachView 2003

     Messageware AttachView 2000

When using Firefox on a Linux operating system, users are able to save attachments by right-clicking on the AttachView conversion window and selecting the save option

By default, web browsers allow the blocking and replacement of the native context menu with the AttachView menu programmatically. When using the Firefox on a Linux client machine, the context menus are not blocked by the browser.

Although Firefox includes a client option which allows the blocking of context menus (Tools\Options\Web Features\Advanced\Disable or replace context menus), even when this option is enabled, the context menu is still available.

This is a native issue with the Firefox browser running off a Linux system

Messageware AttachView blocks direct access to all attachments. As a result, users saving the file links to their desktop are not able to access the attachment. Please ensure the direct access blocking feature is enabled by following the steps below.

1.     Open the AttachView Administrative Console (Start\All Programs\Messageware Incorporated\AttachView for Outlook Web Access\AttachView Administrative Console)

2.     From the Rules menu select the Client Access tab

3.     Verify that the second option is selected "Permit access to only files or attachment requests that are made through AttachView."

4.     Press Apply and OK

5.     Restart the World Wide Web Publishing Service for the changes to take effect immediately
