How to assign calendar permissions to distribution lists in Active Directory using the Manage Delegates console

SUMMARY

 

Messageware CalendarShare Manage Delegates feature allows users to assign calendar permissions to individual users as well as to global distribution groups created in active directory.

 

 

CONFIGURATION

 

To configure permissions for a global distribution group, apply the steps below:

 

1.     Login to the mailbox using Outlook Web Access

2.     In the navigation console, select Calendar

3.     Click on the Manage Delegates link

4.     In the Manage Delegates console, select the appropriate radio button for Delegate permissions or Folder Permissions

5.     Click on the Add button and search for the distribution group name

6.     Click on the Add & Close button

7.     Configure the permission level from the drop down list and press the OK button

 

All members in the global distribution group will now have the designated access to the user’s primary calendar

Individual delegate permissions always take precedence over global distribution groups.
