How to configure authentication settings in environments with RSA for interoperation with AttachView

     Messageware AttachView 2003
     Messageware AttachView 2000



This article outlines the authentication settings that must be configured to ensure interoperation with Messageware AttachView in environments where RSA Enterprise Single Sign-on is configured.



The authentication settings for Exchange, Public, Exchweb\Bin, X-AttachView and X-AttachView\Bin must be set to Basic and Anonymous and have the same Default Domain.


Follow the steps below to verify the Windows Authentication for the above virtual directories using Exchange System Manager (ESM) and the Internet Information Services Manager (IIS).


Verify Exchange and Public Virtual Directories in Exchange System Manager


1.     Open Exchange System Manager (ESM) and navigate to the Exchange Virtual Server <Exchange Server>\Administrative Groups\First Administrative Group\Servers\<Server> \Protocols\HTTP\Exchange Virtual Server

2.     Right-click on the Exchange virtual directory and select Properties

3.     Change to the Access tab and click the Authentication button

4.     Check Anonymous access and Basic authentication and ensure that Integrated Windows Authentication is unchecked

5.     Verify the default domain

6.     Repeat steps 3 to 5 for the Public virtual directory


Verify Exchweb\Bin , X-AttachView and X-AttachView\bin Virtual Directories in IIS Manager

1.     Open Internet Services Manager (IIS) and navigate to the Default Web Site
Internet Information Services\<Server>\Default Web Site

2.     Right-click on the Exchweb\Bin virtual directory, and select Properties

3.     Chang e to the Directory Security tab

4.     Click Edit under Anonymous access and authentication control

5.     Enable anonymous access and Basic Authentication must be checked to match the above settings

6.     Ensure the Default Domain is the same as above

7.     Repeat steps 2-6 for the X-AttachView and X-AttachView\Bin virtual directories
