Microsoft Update Q911829 released in March and April of 2006 introduced an OWA problem into some environments where pressing the spacebar after addressing a message results in the address dialog re-appearing.
The cause is that the focus is not set to the body after addressing a message. The most commonly reported issue is that while typing the message body, entering a space (pressing the spacebar) suddenly activates the addressing pop-up.
Messageware worked closely with Microsoft to identify the cause of the native OWA issue and Microsoft will not correct the behavior at this time. For the convenience of our customers, Messageware has created a tool to correct this behavior.
The Messageware OWA Focus Tool can be downloaded from the link below to correct this native OWA behavior.
Download and extract the executable
On the Exchange Server where Q911829 has been applied, run the executable
Follow the user interface to complete the installation
On a client machine, clear the local browser cache (Tools\Internet Options\Delete Files) and refresh the page
Login to OWA and verify that the issue has been corrected
Note that this fix is not officially supported - feedback on this tool is appreciated email@example.com
