Users get a Page not Found error when logging off OWA

S YMPTOMS

 

When pressing the OWA logoff button, users are not taken to the OWA logoff page but instead receive the following error:

 

“The page cannot be found”

 

CAUSE

 

The issue is not related to Messageware products. There are several possible causes for this error including the two outlined below:

 

1.     Anonymous Access is not enabled for the Exchweb\bin\usa folder in IIS

2.     Active Server Pages are prohibited from running

 

RESOLUTION

 

To correct this native OWA issue, proceed with the steps below.

 

Verify Anonymous Access is enabled for the Exchweb\bin\usa virtual folder

 

1.     Open the IIS Manager and navigate to \<OWA website>\ Exchweb\bin\usa

2.     Right-click on the usa folder and select Properties

3.     Move to the Directory Security tab

4.     Click Edit under Authentication and access control and verify that Enable Anonymous Access is selected

 

Confirm Active Server Pages are allowed

 

1.     Open IIS Manager and navigate to <Server Name>\Web Service Extensions

2.     Ensure that status the Active Server Pages is set to allowed
