Delegates granted Editor / Reviewer permission only have Read access and shared calendars are not saved

SUMMARY

 

Upon installing CalendarShare, users may experience the following issues

Symptom 1:
When a delegate is granted Editor or Reviewer permission to a user’s calendar, the delegate has only read access to the assigned calendar

Symptom 2: The list of shared calendars is cleared each time a user logs back onto OWA

 

CAUSE

 

This is an environment related issue that occurs when IIS is unable to resolve the external NETBIOS name of the Outlook Web Access web site.

 

RESOLUTION

 

The configuration issue can be corrected by proceeding with the steps below.

1.     Add the Exchange server as host header value

a.     Open the IIS Manager, right-click on Default Web Site followed by clicking Properties

b.    In the Web Site tab click on the Advanced button in the Web site identification section

c.     Highlight the first entry and click Edit followed by configuring the IP address to point to the Exchange server’s internal IP address

d.    Enter the Exchange server’s NETBIOS name as the host header value

e.     Click OK, then Apply and OK

2.     Add an additional identity to the web site

a.     In the Advanced Web Site identification window click the Add button and enter the Exchange server’s IP address for the IP address

b.    Enter the associated port 80 in the TCP port section

c.     Click OK, then Apply and OK
