SUMMARY

This article outlines the server configuration to ensure Messageware AttachView and Exchange Forms-based Authentication interoperation.

RESOLUTION

For interoperation, the Messageware AttachView IIS virtual folder should be set to allow Anonymous access.  See the steps below.

1.     Open IIS Manager and navigate to the OWA Web Site (Default Web Site)

2.     Right-click on the X-AttachView virtual directory and select Properties from the Action Menu

3.     Change to the Directory Security tab

4.     Under Authentication and Access Control select Edit

5.     Verify that Anonymous Access is enabled, Basic Windows Authentication is enabled and the Default Domain is populated

6.     When prompted apply this setting to the bin subdirectory

NOTE

When configuring AttachView criteria based on identity (group membership, logon ID, OUs, etc.) in an environment protected by Exchange Forms Based Authentication, a workaround is required.
